Teaching & Pedagogical Research
am actively engaged in undergraduate and graduate education within the Department of Fishery Science at Nanchang University. My teaching portfolio covers a broad spectrum of core and specialized courses in aquaculture, cell biology, and genetics, including Histology and Cytochemistry, Cell Biology, Aquaculture Engineering, Aquatic Animal Genetics and Breeding, Facility Aquaculture and Engineering, Shellfish and Crustacean Aquaculture, Special Economic Aquatic Animal Aquaculture, and associated laboratory courses. At the graduate level, I teach Aquaculture Engineering and Modern Aquatic Animal Aquaculture.
My pedagogical research focuses on innovative teaching methodologies that bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application in aquaculture and life sciences. I have a strong interest in micro‑lecture development, experimental teaching reform, and curriculum integration that enhances student engagement and hands‑on skills. I actively incorporate recent research findings into classroom instruction, encouraging students to think critically about real‑world problems in aquatic animal health, breeding, and sustainable production.
My commitment to teaching excellence has been recognised through multiple awards:
First Prize in the National Higher Education (Life Sciences) Microlecture Teaching Competition (2014), for the topic “Functional Elements of Chromosomes”.
Second Prize in the Nanchang University Experimental Teaching Competition (2012), for “Feulgen DNA Staining”.
Third Prize in the Nanchang University “Camphor Tree” Party Affairs Skills Competition (Faculty Party Branch Secretary Track, 2025).
Repeatedly honoured as “Outstanding Undergraduate Class Advisor” at Nanchang University for five academic years (2018–2019, 2019–2020, 2020–2021, 2023–2024, 2024–2025).
Recognised as “Outstanding Party Worker” by the School of Life Sciences for six years (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025).
Beyond formal teaching, I am dedicated to mentoring undergraduate research projects, supervising master’s students, and guiding student teams in innovation and entrepreneurship competitions. I also serve as a class advisor, fostering academic and personal development among students. My teaching philosophy emphasises interactive learning, evidence‑based instruction, and the integration of frontier scientific discoveries into the curriculum, preparing students to become competent professionals and researchers in aquatic biology and aquaculture.
