Lei Zhu, Ph.D., is a Distinguished Researcher and Master's Supervisor at the School of Information Engineering, Nanchang University. He received his B.Sc. degrees with First-Class Honours in both Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2017, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the same university in 2022. He subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at NUS and later worked as a Research Scientist at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore.
His research focuses on artificial intelligence and medical image analysis, with particular interests in weakly supervised learning, multi-modal learning, medical foundation models, and clinical applications of AI in healthcare. To date, he has published 23 papers in SCI journals and international conferences, including 13 first-author papers. His representative works have appeared in leading journals and conferences such as Radiology, MICCAI, CVPR, and ACM MM. His research outcomes have been clinically deployed at the National University Hospital in Singapore, significantly improving diagnostic efficiency, and have received international media coverage. He has participated in the national-level AISG RAPIER project in Singapore, and has received several honors, including the 2024 ACM SIGMOD Systems Award and the 2021 APSS-ASJ Best Clinical Research Award.
