Dr. Lei Zhang, male, born in 1993, is a member of the Communist Party of China, a specially appointed professor at Nanchang University, and a master's supervisor. He was selected as a recipient of the 2022 National "Doctoral Innovation Program" (Category A) and was ranked among the world's top 2% scientists in the engineering field in 2025. He serves as an industry expert for the China International Science and Technology Promotion Association and a young editorial board member of the Journal of Nonferrous Metals (Chinese and English editions). His main research focuses on the physical and chemical theories and applications of metal material preparation and high-temperature processes, with an emphasis on steel, copper, and ultra-high-temperature refractory metals. His research revolves around quality and performance control, technical equipment development, and industrial applications of high-temperature metal materials. To date, he has published over 30 SCI papers in authoritative journals in the field of metallurgical materials, including J Hazard Mater, J Am Ceram Soc, Ceram Int, and Metall Mater Trans B, with 18 of them as first or corresponding authors. He has received nine research awards, including the Gold Award of the Hunan Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the First Prize of the Hunan Technical Invention Award, and the China Association for Science and Technology Pioneer Technology Award (Advanced Materials Field).
