主要从事微生物合成方面的研究,其中利用乳酸菌合成γ-氨基丁酸的研究处于国际领先水平。目前工作重点聚焦于:
1、功能性益生菌筛选与鉴定
通过高通量方法,从自然生境中筛选能合成特定功能性化合物的微生物;并利用多相鉴定方法,对筛选的微生物进行菌种鉴定。
2、过程优化与调控
筛查影响产物合成的关键因子并进行优化,通过过程调控,有效提高目标分子的合成效率。
3、合成途径解析、编辑与调控
利用生物化学、分子生物学等手段揭示产物合成途径,对合成相关通路进行基因编辑,消除代谢通路的瓶颈;在充分理解合成机制与细胞生理的基础上,对转化过程进行精准调控,实现产物的高效合成。

主持国家自然科学基金项目4项,国家重点研发计划项目子课题1项,省部级项目8项,地厅级项目2项,横向项目3项;以骨干身份参与国家级项目2项,省部级课题3项,横向项目3项;发表SCI论文50余篇;参与编写专著2部;获广东省科技进步奖二等奖1次,江西省自然科学奖三等奖2次;中国商业联合会行业一等奖1次,获授权发明专利20余件。
