Huang Zhen, a university-appointed professor at Nanchang University, holds a Bachelor's and PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nottingham in the UK, and was a postdoctoral researcher at the PEMC Research Group of the University of Nottingham. He is a high-level overseas talent in Jiangxi Province, a long-term project selectee of the province's "Double Thousand Plan" for innovative leading talents, and a member of the Traffic Electrification Professional Committee of the China Power Supply Society.

Dr. Huang Zhen's main research areas include motor drive systems for new energy vehicles, and start-generator systems for all-electric/multi-electric aircraft. He has led or mainly participated in nearly 10 research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the EU Clean Sky Program, the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and others. As of June 2025, he has published nearly 50 SCI/EI papers, including 10 papers in top journals of the Chinese Academy of Sciences as first/corresponding author, which have been cited nearly 400 times.

In terms of student training, he has supervised graduate students to receive national scholarships, graduate innovation awards (first-class, the only one in the college), first-class academic scholarships, and more than 10 other awards. Two students were recognized as outstanding graduates and received honors for excellent master's theses. For undergraduates, he has supervised one student to receive an excellent graduation thesis (design) award, and three students have received approval for national/provincial-level innovation and entrepreneurship projects.
