Overview:
Xin Wei, PhD, graduated from Ulster University, UK, and was a research assistant there. He is currently an associate professor and master's supervisor at the School of Software, Nanchang University. His research focuses on artificial intelligence disciplines such as deep learning, machine learning, pattern recognition, and computer vision, and he has applied some of his research findings to fields such as facial image processing and medical image processing.
He is selected for Nanchang University's "Camphor Tree Talent Cultivation Program". Received the second prize of Jiangxi Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award in 2024. Has been granted over 10 patents and published more than 20 high-level papers. Papers have been cited by top international journals in the field of artificial intelligence and pattern recognition, including IEEE TPAMI, IEEE TNNLS, Information Sciences, IEEE TSMC, and PR. Serves as a reviewer for top conferences and journals such as AAAI, IEEE Trans. Cybern., and Knowledge Based Systems.
He has led two National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects, one Jiangxi Provincial Natural Science Foundation Outstanding Youth Project, one Jiangxi Provincial Natural Science Foundation Youth Project, and two industry-funded projects. He has also participated in two EU Horizon 2020 projects, one Northern Ireland project, one NSFC General Program project, and two NSFC Regional Program projects.
He has presided over one university-level teaching reform project and one first-class course construction project, and published one professional course textbook. In 2024, he received the second prize of Nanchang University Teaching Achievement Award (Youth Project). He has guided graduate and undergraduate students to win more than 30 domestic and international science and technology competition awards. He has guided undergraduate students in 5 national, provincial, and university-level innovation and entrepreneurship projects. He has guided 6 scientific research training projects. He has guided 4 undergraduate students to receive the university's Outstanding Graduation Thesis Award.
