Dr. Yu Xu is an Associate Professor and Master's Supervisor at Nanchang University. A native of Yongzhou, Hunan Province, he is a Member of the China Institute of Communications (CIC) and a Member Representative (Council Member Candidate) of the Jiangxi Institute of Communications. He serves as a Guest Editor for the international journals Telecom and Sensors, and as a Youth Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Nanchang University (Engineering & Technology Edition). Notably, he was selected into Elsevier's prestigious "World's Top 2% Scientists" list in 2025.

His research primarily focuses on key technologies for next-generation wireless communications, including low-altitude UAV networks, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS), integrated sensing and communication (ISAC), near-field communications, and novel smart antennas.

Dr. Xu has published over 50 academic papers in top-tier journals in the field of communications, such as IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications (TWC), IEEE Transactions on Communications (TCOM), and IEEE Transactions on Vehicle Technology (TVT), and holds more than 10 authorized invention patents. As a Principal Investigator (PI), he has led multiple high-level research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the Key International Science and Technology Cooperation Project of Jiangxi Province, and the Natural Science Foundation of Jiangxi Province.

He is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the First Prize of the Jiangxi Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award (2021), the Second Prize of the Science and Technology Award of the China Institute of Communications (2025), the Jiangxi Provincial Teaching Achievement Award (Youth Cultivation Category, 2024), the Second Prize of the Teaching Achievement Award of the Chinese Institute of Electronics (2025), and the Grand Prize of the Teaching Achievement Award of Nanchang University (2026). Additionally, he has successfully supervised students to win top prizes in major national competitions, including the "Challenge Cup" China Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition, the China Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Competition, the China University Computer Design Competition, and the China Graduate Electronic Design Competition. He has also been recognized for supervising Outstanding Undergraduate Graduation Theses at Nanchang University.
