Associate Research Fellow. B.S.E. in Mechanical Engineering (MD) from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), graduating from the first joint training experimental program with the University of Michigan (UM), USA. M.S.E. in ME from UM, USA, and Ph.D in Computational Mechanics from the institute of mechanics and computational mechanics (IBNM), Leibniz University Hannover (LUH), Germany, with postdoctoral work continued at the Institute of Continuum Mechanics (ICM) and IBNM, LUH. Honors and research engagements include Wissenschaftspreis Hannover 2010, participation in one major German Research Foundation project GRK615, project leader of one university research startup fund and one DFG project.
Full-time employment commenced at Nanchang University in 2015. Subsequent research undertakings cover one youth fund project of Jiangxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology, one horizontal project commissioned by Jiangxi Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment and Jiangxi Meteorological Bureau, and participation in one major project supported by the National Science Foundation of China (NSFC). Academic outputs consist of 19 SCI/EI ipapers, one academic monograph and one co-edited book.
Current research scope involves computational simulation of material properties in interdisciplinary cooperation with chemistry and materials experimental research, embracing first-principles calculation, phase-field theory, molecular dynamics, finite element method and multi-scale approaches, as well as exploratory study on physics-informed neural networks. Students interested in relevant research areas are welcome to apply. Email: shan@ncu.edu.cn
