Ping Tong, Researcher in the State Key Laboratory of Food Science and Resources and doctoral supervisor of the College of Food Science and Technology at Nanchang University. She is the core member of the Food Allergy Innovation Team, a key field innovation team of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and also serves as the core member of the China Young Female Scientist Award team. Additionally, she is the standing committee member of the Allergy Prevention and Control Professional Committee of Jiangxi Preventive Medicine Association, and the vice chair member of the Pediatric Allergy Committee of Jiangxi Maternal and Child Health and Eugenics Association. She also serves as a Review Editor for the journal of Frontiers in Allergy and the Junior Member of the European Academy of Allergy and Cinical Immunology. She is the principal investigator for several significant research grants including the National Key Research and Development Program of China (Young Scientists Program), the National Natural Science Foundation of China (General Program), the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Youth Program), the Outstanding Youth Fund of Jiangxi Province, the Key Research and Development Program of Jiangxi Province, and the Leading Talent Program of "Ganpo Talents" of Jiangxi Province.

Dr. Tong has been dedicated to research in the fields of food nutrition and safety, particularly in the identification of food allergens, allergenicity assessment, mechanisms of allergy, foodborne risk factors and food allergy, anti-allergic management, and utilization of novel protein resources and allergenicity assessment. Her researches span across food science, biochemistry, medical immunology, biotechnology, and life sciences, focusing on cutting-edge interdisciplinary studies that closely link scientific research with the improvement of human health, achieving a series of pioneering research outcomes. Up until 2025, her representative research findings have been published as the first author or corresponding author in prestigious journals such as Comprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, Food Chemistry, etc, with the H-index of 25. And she has been granted 20 national invention patents and also awarded one of the second prize of Natural Science of Jiangxi Province, and two of the second prizes of Science and Technology Progress of Jiangxi Province.
