Personal Information

  Ruan Luzhang, male, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor,  native of Ningde City, Fujian Province. From 1994 to 2004, he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, a Master's degree in Ecology, and a Doctorate in Zoology from Lanzhou University. From 2011 to 2012, he conducted postdoctoral research at Oregon State University under the mentorship of Professor Susan Haig. Since June 2005, he has been a faculty member at the School of Life Sciences, Nanchang University, and has held the position of Professor since December 2012. He has led over 30 research projects, including 3 National Natural Science Foundation of China grants, 1 sub-project of a National Key Research Program, 1 sub-project of a Ministry of Science and Technology Basic Research Program, and 2 Jiangxi Provincial Natural Science Foundation grants. He has published more than 40  papers. Recipient of one First Prize for Scientific and Technological Achievements from the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education, one Second Prize for Science and Technology from the Ministry of Education, and one Second Prize for Teaching Achievement from Nanchang University. Research focuses on urban and wetland birds, investigating mechanisms of environmental change impacts on biodiversity and animal behavior, migratory connectivity in birds, biodiversity conservation, and evaluation processes.
