Academic & Professional Background

Dr. Qun Tang earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China (Jan 2005), followed by post-doctoral work in South Korea and Sweden. He established an independent laboratory at Nanchang University in March 2010, spearheading research on manganese-based MRI contrast agents and novel arsenic anticancer drugs. He now pioneers low-phosphate-stress (LPS) strategies for disease prevention and therapy.

Research & Innovations

Dr. Tang has completed or is executing three National Natural Science Foundation projects, produced 46 SCI-indexed articles, secured three authorized patents, and accrued 1,489 citations with an h-index of 19. His lab’s inventive Mn-based imaging agents and arsenic-derived therapeutics address significant clinical gaps.

Contributions to Liver-Disease Pharmacology

Over the past three years, Dr. Tang’s team developed inorganic-phosphate binders that arrest liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, hepatic encephalopathy, and MASH, while lowering hepatocellular-carcinoma risk. His mechanistic work deciphers phosphate-stress biology, opening new indications for conventional binders.

Leadership & Collaboration

As a Standing Committee Member of the Jiangxi Provincial Pharmaceutical Society, Dr. Tang mentors young scientists and collaborates with experts like Dr. Rong-guang Luo and Dr. Zhi-qiang Deng. Although not yet an editor, his network accelerates multidisciplinary drug development.
